Mr. Rowald works as part of a cross-disciplinary
team to help clients efficiently meet their goals and objectives.
In addition to legal skill, the strength of Mr. Rowald's IP
practice lies in his broad, educational background including
both engineering and business degrees. Mr. Rowald has been
a managing partner for a law firm and knows what it means to
be responsible for profits and losses, business plans. He also
has first hand experience working with in-house counsel, both
general counsel and IP counsel. This experience provides Mr.
Rowald with a valuable perspective that is hard to match. Mr.
Rowald works closely with clients, developing a keen understanding
of their business, and used this knowledge to advise his clients
as they develop their intellectual property strategy, tailored
to the client's business objectives. Mr. Rowald has worked
with clients to fill their legal needs relating to acquisition,
use and maintenance of intellectual property assets.
Mr. Rowald's experience in working for clients includes negotiating
and drafting license, purchase, sale, joint venture and other
agreements to protect and profit from celebrity likeness and
image, company logos and trade names, copyrights, trade secrets,
trademarks, and patents.
Mr. Rowald has also worked with teams of lawyers to provide
due diligence, including full title searches, to support acquisition
and divestiture of companies and intellectual property assets.
He has recorded security interests in intellectual property
assets and, if the client so desires, insured that a perpetual
docketing system is used to ensure that underlying intellectual
property assets are maintained for the life of the security
interest. He has also assisted financial experts in developing
detailed models for evaluating intellectual property assets
for risk management, collateral, gift evaluation, acquisition
and divestiture, and initial public offerings.
